MEET DOUG Pounds
Welcome to my campaign page! My name is Doug Pounds, and I am running in the general election on Tuesday, November 8th for State Representative in New Hampshire for Goffstown District 29.
Why am I running?
There comes a time when one gets backed into a corner and has to fight or succumb. Conservative, pro-family, and pro-life values are continually under assault by the democrat left, and I intend to take a stand.
issues important to Doug
Life
I have witnessed the miracle of a life saved firsthand. You just never know the potential greatness or outcome of a person’s life. I believe that from the moment of conception until natural death, every created person is infinitely precious.
Second Amendment
We live in a dangerous world. I believe our forefathers had great foresight 1791 when they added the “Bill of Rights” to the United States Constitution which contains the following amendment:
‘A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.’
— Unites States Constitution Amendment II
Education
Parents are the primary educators of their children. As such they have the right to educate their children as they see fit without imposition by government and with the full fiscal support thereof. Our current system has inverted this.
Taxes
I support the New Hampshire advantage of no income or sales tax. Government should be limited in expenditures for institutions that serve essential services that defend and protect our liberties. Bloated budgets help no one!
Freedom
True freedom is to live out our God given potential without interference or punishment merely for the sake of our beliefs religious or otherwise. It does not convey free license to do whatever we wish without suffering due and just consequences for our actions.
